What is the best AI sales coaching software for sales managers?

The best one fixes the place where your coaching breaks down, and you can find that place with one question. If reps freeze on objections they’ve never heard, you need practice. If you can’t review enough calls, you need scoring. If good advice reaches the rep a week after the deal moved, you need coaching inside the live deal. Here is who fits each job:

  • Gong: scores whole calls against your scorecards with AI Call Reviewer and turns past calls into role-play with AI Trainer, on the Gong Enable tiers.
  • Mindtickle: a readiness platform with call scores, CHAMP and MEDDPICC scoring, AI role-play and training programs.
  • Avoma: AI call scoring against MEDDICC, SPICED or your own scorecard, sold as a Conversation Intelligence add-on.
  • Jiminny: AI Call Scoring on every call, with scorecards built by managers.
  • Hyperbound and Second Nature: AI role-play, so reps practice before they meet a buyer.
  • Cirrus Insight: in-call guidance and after-call coaching for Salesforce teams.
  • AnyTeam: coaches the rep inside the live meeting with what worked in your team’s similar deals, scores the call against your framework, and shows the manager which deals need attention.

Why it matters: most tools coach before the call or after it. Deals are won or lost during it, and the best answer to a buyer’s objection often already sits in a deal your team won last quarter.

Want coaching that reaches the deal while it’s still open?

AnyTeam is the AI workforce for revenue teams. Its agents work from one shared memory of every account, so the coaching a rep gets comes from your team’s own wins.

  • During the call: when a buyer names a competitor or raises a familiar objection, AnyTeam surfaces the counter-position and objection play that worked in similar deals across your team, along with next-best questions.
  • After the call: every call is scored against your framework, such as MEDDIC or MEDDPICC, with objections, competitor mentions, next steps and coverage gaps logged.
  • For the manager: one card per rep, a red, amber or green dot for every deal, and at-risk deals sorted with the reason they were flagged. Managers see summaries and signals, not raw transcripts.
  • Over time: every call adds to the shared memory, so the next rep who hears the same objection starts with what the last one learned.

Another tool may fit better if you mainly need AI role-play for new hires, or a learning platform with courses and certifications.

Bring us one open deal with a competitor in it. See the coaching AnyTeam would give your rep on the next call.

What does AI sales coaching software actually do?

AI sales coaching software gives reps feedback on real or practice conversations, so a manager doesn’t have to sit in on every call. In 2026 the tools split into four jobs, and most products do one or two of them well.

  1. Practice before the call. An AI buyer plays the prospect. The rep handles objections and gets a score. Hyperbound, Second Nature, Mindtickle and Gong’s AI Trainer all do this.
  2. Score after the call. The tool reads the call and grades it against a scorecard or a framework like MEDDPICC. Managers sort by the lowest scores and coach those calls first.
  3. Guide during the call. Prompts appear while the buyer is talking: a battlecard, an answer, the next question to ask.
  4. Run a readiness program. Courses, certifications and skill tracking, usually owned by an enablement team.

All four jobs are useful. For a manager, the difference that matters most is where the advice comes from.

Where does the coaching come from?

Ask every vendor this before you buy: when the tool tells a rep what to say, where did that advice come from? You’ll hear one of three answers.

A generic playbook. Someone wrote the talk track, the battlecard or the role-play script. It’s consistent, and it stays current only as long as someone keeps editing it. When a competitor changes its pricing story, the playbook is wrong until a person notices.

Scores on your recorded calls. The tool measures behavior against a rubric: talk time, questions asked, whether the rep confirmed budget. Mindtickle’s Call AI, for example, scores calls on behaviors like talk time, pace and questions asked. That tells a manager who needs coaching. It doesn’t tell the rep what to say to this buyer.

What your won deals actually did. The advice comes from deals your team closed: the counter-position that beat this competitor, the answer that settled this security question, the question that surfaced the real decision process. It’s the closest thing to having your best rep in every meeting.

Here’s a test you can run in a demo. Pick one objection your team hears every week. Ask each vendor to show where its answer to that objection comes from, and how the answer would change after your team wins three more deals against it. A tool that learns from your wins gets better without anyone rewriting a playbook.

Can AI score every sales call against MEDDPICC?

Yes. Automatic scoring against MEDDPICC and similar frameworks is now standard, so compare the price, the tier and what happens after the score.

Tool What it scores Where it sits
AnyTeam Every call against your framework, such as MEDDIC or MEDDPICC; logs objections, competitor mentions, next steps and coverage gaps Post-Call Intelligence agent
Gong AI Call Reviewer suggests answers to scorecard questions or reviews entire calls automatically Gong Enable Essentials and Gong Enable
Mindtickle AI call scores, plus CHAMP and MEDDPICC scoring for calls Call AI and Copilot
Avoma Auto call scoring with AI; ready-made SPICED, Sandler and MEDDICC scorecards, or your own Conversation Intelligence add-on
Jiminny AI Call Scoring evaluates every call with the framework you choose Scorecards built by admins and managers
Hyperbound Scores real customer conversations against your methodology scorecards Call intelligence and pipeline coaching

A score is where coaching starts. If a call scores low on MEDDPICC because the rep never identified the economic buyer, the score tells the manager that. It doesn’t get the rep to the economic buyer on the next call. So ask what each tool does with the gap: assign practice, nudge the manager, or put the missing question in front of the rep the next time they’re with that buyer.

How can won deals coach reps on live deals?

The rep gets the move that worked before, at the moment the buyer gives them a reason to use it. Here is one objection, followed through a call.

The example below is fictional. Names and details are invented to show the workflow.

Priya is an account executive, 40 minutes into a second call with Northbeam Logistics. The VP of Operations says: “Your competitor quoted us 30% less, and they say they can go live in six weeks.”

Moment Coaching from a playbook Coaching from won deals
The buyer names the competitor A battlecard with the competitor’s feature list The counter-position that closed your team’s recent deals against that competitor
The buyer pushes on price A general discount guideline The question your winning reps asked next, about the cost of a slow rollout
After the call A score: “Pricing objection handled: partial” The same score, plus the gap logged against the deal: no economic buyer identified yet
The manager’s view A low-scoring call in a review queue Northbeam flagged amber, with the reason: competitor named on a call, no economic buyer

Priya doesn’t have to remember that a teammate beat the same competitor last quarter. AnyTeam’s Cross-Deal Coach brings that answer to her while the buyer is still talking. Her manager knows what to ask in their next one-on-one without opening the transcript.

This is what compounding memory is for. Each call is captured, connected to its account and deal, and ready for the next rep who needs it.

Can conversation analytics help train sales teams?

Yes, when the analysis turns into one specific change on the next call. Conversation analytics finds patterns across many calls: which questions show up in won deals, where reps lose control of pricing, which objections are new this quarter. Managers use those patterns to decide what to coach.

The usual failure is the delay between the insight and the rep. A pattern found in a quarterly review reaches the rep weeks later, as a slide. Teams that close that gap tend to do three things:

  • Share the real moment. A 60-second stretch from a teammate’s call teaches more than a rule written about it.
  • Coach one behavior at a time. “Ask who signs off before you send pricing” is coachable. “Improve discovery” isn’t.
  • Put the pattern where the rep will use it: in practice, in the meeting brief or in the live call.

What metrics should managers track to improve sales coaching?

Track three layers: the behavior you coached, whether it moved deals, and whether results followed. Revenue alone can’t tell you what to coach next.

Layer What to track Where you’ll see it
Behavior How often the coached behavior shows up on live calls, for example the economic buyer named by call two Call scores against your framework, per rep, per week
Deal movement Stage conversion, time in stage, deals with a dated next step Your CRM, before and after the coaching
Results Win rate against the competitor or objection you coached on Closed-won and closed-lost reasons

One warning comes up again and again in user reviews: coaching that feels like surveillance. When AnyTeam coded 92 G2 reviews about coaching reps from real calls, the negative ones mentioned reps feeling micromanaged and managers fixating on talk ratios. Choose metrics tied to a deal outcome, and tell reps what you measure and why.

The 8 tools in detail

1. AnyTeam: best for coaching inside the live deal, drawn from your won deals

AnyTeam is the AI workforce for revenue teams. During a meeting it captures the conversation as text and offers live guidance: competitor positioning, objection plays, next-best questions and answers your team has given before. Its Cross-Deal Coach agent pulls what worked in similar deals across the org when a familiar competitor or objection comes up. After the call, the Post-Call Intelligence agent scores it against your framework (agents). Sales leaders get a team view of every rep’s deals, with the reason each at-risk deal was flagged. It connects to Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio. Watch for: AnyTeam doesn’t offer AI role-play practice or a course library, and it doesn’t publish pricing.

2. Gong: best for scoring plus role-play built from your own calls

Gong’s AI Call Reviewer can suggest answers to scorecard questions or review entire calls automatically (Gong help). Coaching is available on the Gong Enable Essentials and Gong Enable tiers (Gong help). Gong Enable adds AI Trainer, which turns past calls into role-play scenarios, and lets reps rehearse an upcoming meeting with the customer’s persona and account context. Watch for: check which coaching features your tier includes before you plan around them.

3. Mindtickle: best for one readiness platform

Mindtickle’s Call AI scores calls on behaviors like talk time, pace and questions asked, and surfaces insights so managers can choose which reps and deals to coach. Its Copilot grades pitches and creates role-play scenarios. Mindtickle added CHAMP and MEDDPICC call scoring in its fall 2023 release. Watch for: it’s built for enablement teams running programs, so a small team may use a fraction of it.

4. Avoma: best for methodology scorecards at a published price

Avoma’s call scoring evaluates 100% of a team’s calls with scorecards built on MEDDIC, BANT, SPICED or your own criteria. On its pricing page, AI call scoring, custom scorecards, coaching recommendations and a real-time answer assistant sit in the Conversation Intelligence add-on: $29 per seat per month billed annually, or $35 monthly, on top of a base plan. Watch for: budget for the add-on as well as the base meeting assistant.

5. Jiminny: best for AI scoring with manager-built scorecards

Jiminny’s AI Call Scoring evaluates every call with the framework you choose, so managers understand call quality without listening to each one. Admins and managers build the scorecards, and Team Insights filters bring up the lowest-scoring calls. Its coaching page adds that reps see their own scores and can self-coach. Watch for: the pages we checked don’t say which plans include scoring.

6. Hyperbound: best for practice tied to real-call gaps

Hyperbound scores real conversations to surface deal risk and skill gaps, then recommends targeted AI role-plays to close each gap. Coaching nudges arrive in Slack. Watch for: the coaching happens between calls, not during them.

7. Second Nature: best for standalone AI role-play

Second Nature describes its product as a virtual role-play partner that holds simulated sales conversations with reps, scores them and helps them improve on their own (vendor description on Capterra). It suits onboarding and product launches. Watch for: reps practice on simulated buyers, so pair it with a tool that sees real deals.

8. Cirrus Insight: best for in-call guidance on Salesforce

Cirrus Insight offers real-time in-call guidance and after-call coaching, and its coaching guide describes a Live Meeting Coach that suggests next-best questions during calls, built for Salesforce users. Watch for: it’s built around Salesforce teams.

How to choose: the one-deal test

Run one open deal through each finalist for two weeks. Then score each tool on what a manager could see happen.

Check What passes
Live help During the call, the rep got a usable answer to the objection that came up
Source The rep and the manager can see where that answer came from
Score The call was scored against your framework without anyone reviewing it by hand
Gap to action The missing MEDDPICC element became something to do on the deal
Manager view The manager knew the deal’s risk and what to coach without opening the recording

A tool that passes the first two checks coaches the deal. A tool that passes only the score check coaches the report.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI sales coaching software for sales managers?

For coaching during live deals, drawn from what your team has won, AnyTeam. For call scoring plus role-play built from your calls, Gong on its Enable tiers. For a readiness platform with training, assessments and role-play, Mindtickle. For methodology scorecards at a published price, Avoma’s Conversation Intelligence add-on.

Which tools score sales calls against MEDDPICC automatically?

AnyTeam, Gong (AI Call Reviewer on Enable tiers), Mindtickle (CHAMP and MEDDPICC scoring), Avoma (Conversation Intelligence add-on with MEDDICC scorecards), Jiminny (AI Call Scoring with the framework you choose) and Hyperbound all document automatic call scoring against a sales methodology.

Which sales coaching tools use won deals to coach reps on live deals?

AnyTeam’s Cross-Deal Coach pulls the counter-position and objection play that worked in similar deals across the org when a familiar competitor or objection comes up during a call. Gong uses past calls to build role-play scenarios for practice before a meeting. Hyperbound and Mindtickle turn call insights into practice and training.

Can AI replace a sales manager’s coaching?

No. AI can review every call, find the gap and bring the right answer to the rep in the moment. A manager still decides what matters most for each rep and runs the one-on-one where behavior changes.

Is AI role-play enough to coach a sales team?

Role-play builds confidence before a rep meets a buyer, which helps most with new hires and product launches. It can’t see your live pipeline, so pair it with a tool that scores real calls or coaches inside them.

How much does AI sales coaching software cost?

Few vendors publish prices. Avoma lists its Conversation Intelligence add-on at $29 per seat per month billed annually, on top of a base plan that starts at $19. Avoma is the only tool here whose coaching price we found on a first-party pricing page. For the rest, ask for a quote per seat and per add-on.

How we compared and publisher disclosure

Every vendor fact comes from first-party product pages, help centers and pricing pages checked on October 31, 2026. One exception: Second Nature’s description comes from its vendor-written Capterra listing. We compared where each tool’s coaching comes from, when it reaches the rep, how it scores calls and what a manager sees. When we say a page doesn’t state something, we found no first-party source; it doesn’t mean the feature is missing. Vendor win-rate claims are not repeated. The review figures come from AnyTeam’s own coding of 92 G2 reviews about coaching reps from real calls. The Northbeam Logistics example is fictional.

AnyTeam publishes this page and is one of the tools compared. It is held to the same questions as every other tool, including what it doesn’t do: AI role-play practice, a course library and published pricing. Send corrections with first-party documentation through our contact page.
